Christer Åhlund. Christer moved to the town in 1997 and started at LTU. One of his first steps was to start building a network within the local business community.

Soon, this led to a research project, PROMODIS, which in turn led to a licentiate degree, a doctorate, an associate professorship, the establishment of CDT here in town, my own research group, my own research subject, and many more research projects in collaboration with industry, e.g. SenseSmartCity.

Christer has published over 50 papers and has served on the programme committee for a number of prestigious international conferences. In 2011, Christer was promoted to Professor and is currently the head of the research group in distributed computer systems.
